Kibale National Park
Kibale Forest National Park is renowned for having the highest concentration of primates in East Africa, earning it the title of the World’s Primate Capital. The most famous inhabitants are the chimpanzees, our closest relatives. However, this diverse primate park is also home to the rare I’Hoest’s monkey, black-and-white colobus, blue monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red-tailed monkeys, and olive baboons, all of which can be seen during guided nature walks. While chimpanzee sightings are not guaranteed, visitors have a good chance of hearing and observing our distant cousins as they groom and bond with one another.
Key expert-led activities and experiences include chimpanzee habituation and trekking, guided nature walks, and birdwatching. Trips to Kibale National Park can be customized, ranging from 2-day to 3-day excursions depending on guests' needs. The destination also offers a variety of accommodations, from budget-friendly options to value-driven facilities.
