Rwenzori Mountains National Park covers nearly 100,000 hectares in western Uganda and encompasses the main part of the Rwenzori mountain chain, which includes Africa's third highest peak, Mount Margherita (5,109 m). The region's glaciers, waterfalls, and lakes make it one of Africa's most beautiful alpine areas.

The park also offers great opportunities to experience nature at its finest. Its plant life ranges from dense tropical rainforests and bamboo woodlands to montane cloud forests and high-altitude vegetation, creating an outstanding natural decor. Above 4,500 meters, the snow and glaciers add a special element to the breathtaking views throughout this unspoiled mountain range.

This park is renowned for mountaineering, trekking, hiking, and climbing excursions, whether or not summiting Margherita.
