Murchison Falls National Park
This is Uganda’s largest national park and premier conservation area, home to an estimated 70% of the world’s individual Rothschild's giraffe population. The park is bisected by the Nile River, which plunges through an 8-meter narrow trough commonly known as the Devil’s Caldron, creating the world’s most powerful thundering falls adorned with colorful rainbows at twilight. The river divides the park into the open savannah on the northern bank, which is roamed by the Big Four game, while the southern bank is home to forest birds and primates, including the cool Budongo rainforest.
Each of our expertly led trips rewards guests with an up-close experience of the Big Five game, particularly when combined with a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to the reintroduced southern white rhinos. Our prime expert-led experiences and attractions include guided boat cruises to the bottom of the falls and the delta area, guided game drives, guided hikes to the top of the falls, guided walking safaris through the open savannah grasslands in search of rhinos, chimpanzee trekking in Budongo, as well as sport fishing. Occasionally, white-water rafting is also an option.
