Day 1: Pickup from Kampala - transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, enjoy a Guided game drive and 4:00pm guided boat cruise

After breakfast, you will leisurely transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest savannah national park in Uganda. Despite its size, it has a lot to offer! Centered around a series of swamp-fringed lakes, the park boasts rich birdlife. The green acacia woodlands harbor wildlife such as zebras, warthogs, elands, and impalas, not to mention the lake itself, which is home to schools of hippos and crocodiles! Furthermore, the Uganda Wildlife Authority brought 15 giraffes from Murchison Falls to Lake Mburo, and they have since multiplied. We will arrive in time for a guided game drive to the Kazuma Lookout.

In the afternoon, at 16:00, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Mburo, getting up close to the crocodiles and hippos. On your return to the lodge, you may also have the opportunity for an evening game drive.

Day 2: Morning walking Safari or optional horse ride

After breakfast, we will embark on a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger. The kopjes are particularly fascinating, home to camouflaged klipspringers and topis. Due to cattle herding in the area, it’s amusing to see zebras grazing peacefully alongside the long-horned Ankole cattle. Approaching wildlife at such close range is truly exhilarating.

Later, you will leisurely transfer to Kampala/Entebbe, making a stopover at the Equator for a water experience. Here, you will have the opportunity to stand in two hemispheres at the same time. Take some photos before continuing to another stop at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers, where you can watch ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through generations. You will arrive in the afternoon.
